I had my plantation shutters and frame refinished with a different color to match a change in the room's decor. I worked with Mary at Castle Shutters who always kept me aware of the process and was able to provide a quote by email based of my measurements. Patrick and Philip completed the refinishing very professionally. Since the shutters had to be taken away for refinishing, the entire process took nearly the 3 weeks that was expected and I was kept informed throughout. The finished result is awesome - exactly what I wanted and my 30 year old shutters look like brand new.

My husband is a retired architect and he is PICKY about paint. We have five different shades of white in our living room alone. So when I wanted to get our plantation shutters painted, they had to look good. I contacted three companies: one was so busy they told me to call back in January, one quoted a price that was more than it would have cost me to replace the shutters, and the third one was Castle.
Mary was a pleasure to deal with from the first time I spoke to her. She was quick to respond and her quote was literally less than half of the competitor's. She arranged for Patrick to pick up the shutters, which he did with great dispatch.
Even my husband was impressed with the final product. Patrick had sanded the shutters that we had tried to paint ourselves with latex paint (oops), repaired the hardware and gave them a beautiful smooth finish, as you can see in these photos.
I have already recommended Castle to my friends as well as to my husband's associates in the design business.

We purchased plantation shutters about 25 years ago. With time, they had yellowed quite a bit. We considered replacing them at a huge cost, and asked the person who was going to do the job if anyone paints shutters to restore them to their original clean, crisp look. We were told that repainting shutters was very difficult to do and not many people did a quality job. Then...we found Patrick from Castle Shutters. Our shutters look beautiful! He was prompt, matched the white to our existing molding, and the price was quite reasonable. We highly recommend his work, as we were very, very pleased.

My wife and I first met Patrick and Mary when we had an issue with a shutter in a condo I owned. Patrick came out and fixed a minor problem. The repair professional showed up at the beginning of the one hour range they provided to me (only a one hour range...other companies, take notice!). Castle Shutters made my old shutters new again! They had scratches from the dog jumping up to look out and just peeling from sun and weather over the years. Much less expensive to refurbish well made and sound shutters than replace. I highly recommend using Castle Shutters rather than a painter. The owner, Patrick, was very patient and professional in helping us select the correct size and style of shutters (no sales pressure whatsoever), and he completed the job on time with precisely the right fit and the exact paint match to our decor. This was our second experience with Castle Shutters. About 8 years ago, Castle Shutters installed plantation shutters in our first house. After 8 years, the shutters looked like new -- no peeling paint, loose slats or any problems whatsoever. We were so happy with the service and product that we were very confident using them for our new house. Our new shutters were installed perfectly -- no gaps or uneven seams. They look terrific. Patrick is extremely professional and thorough, and Mary, in the office, is a delight to deal with. Everyone is courteous and helpful and we have no hesitation at all in giving them our highest recommendation.
